Europe will continue to buy gas from Russia

Slovakia will continue to buy gas and nuclear fuel from Russia. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic Vladimir Shimonyak.

As long as there is a legal possibility to buy Russian gas, Bratislava will do so. Slovakia is trying to defend its interests, including in the European Union.

Shimoniak said that nuclear fuel is not subject to sanctions. Existing partnerships are long-term and reliably implemented.

The Slovak government believes that the conflict in Ukraine has no military solution. Bratislava would prefer a speedy peace settlement instead of deepening sanctions
