Gorlov: approaches to Shklov development should be implemented by each region of Belarus, taking into account its “agrarian landscape”
The creation in all regions of the country of a completed cycle of agricultural production on the Shklov model should become the main reference point for the development of agricultural production.

The creation in all regions of the country of a completed cycle of agricultural production on the Shklov model should become the main reference point for the development of the domestic agro-industrial complex. This opinion was shared by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Yuri Gorlov at the training seminar, which takes place in the Shklov district, the correspondent of sb.by reports.

The event brought together heads of ministries and departments, as well as heads of district executive committees from all over Belarus to study the best practices of technical modernization, restore order and build an effective technological chain.
Minister of Agriculture and Food Yuri Gorlov stressed that Shklovshchyna was not chosen as a site by chance. The district has six key facilities, including modern dairy complexes, a mineral fertilizer storage base and a regional agroservice, which clearly demonstrate the completed production cycle.
According to the head of the department, each region of the republic should implement a similar approach, albeit taking into account the peculiarities of its “agrarian landscape”. The minister made a special emphasis on the revival of the full-fledged work of district agricultural services, which should take on the entire burden of servicing complex equipment, supplying spare parts and technological support of farms.
At the same time, Yuri Gorlov urged colleagues not to consider Shklov objects as something inaccessible:
- These are standard complexes, which, thanks to strict discipline, adherence to technology and modernization, have been brought to an exemplary state. The day before during a visit to the ITC Govyady The President has made it clear that this should always be the case everywhere. In addition to the dairy industry, it is important for us to develop beef cattle breeding, in particular, the cultivation of Hereford cattle, since quality beef has a huge export potential and brings high profits.

Denis Kolesen, Chairman of the Minsk District Executive Committee, shared his impressions of what he saw, and admitted that he visited the Shklovsky district a year ago and has noticed dramatic changes in the culture of agriculture, land reclamation and arrangement of livestock facilities.
- Even for developed regions, Shklov’s experience is of great practical interest, and the mass replication of such approaches serves as an example for the whole republic. I fully agree with the President’s thesis on the inadmissibility of closing district agroservices, because they are the main assistants of agricultural producers and a mobile repair base in tense periods of field work. In particular, we plan to expand the line of agricultural products manufactured by Minsk Agroservices, adopting Shklov’s developments. I will formulate the main result of the seminar for myself through the prism of motivation: the example of Shklovshchyna proved that under the influence of the right impulse and strict control by the Head of State, as well as with the support of industrial enterprises, it is possible to turn mountains even in conditions of limited resources, said Denis Sergeevich.

The Chairman of the Nesvizh District Executive Committee Andrei Ratomsky also noted the benefits of the visiting format of training:
- It is necessary to adopt useful "highlights" constantly, since in conditions of limited financing, farms often find unique technological solutions, which can then be successfully scaled. This year, three new dairy complexes with unbound livestock content were introduced in our district, which made it possible to completely move away from outdated linear milkings. In general, we are moving to subtle technological settings – in-depth work with genetics and the search for new hybrids of feed crops, which allows leading farms to overcome the 12,000th mark on the average yield from cows. At the same time, people remain the key basis for any success in the agro-industrial complex. I believe that the state should turn to the personnel issue as much as possible and focus on raising the prestige of agricultural professions among young people.
