Investment forum as a growth driver: new business contacts strengthen the economy of the Mogilev district

The investment forum “Mogilev District – Territory of Opportunities” is held today, September 23, for the eighth time. The business event once again becomes the center of attraction for business, investors and experts, reports sb.by.

The picturesque location for the forum on the lake in the village of Saltanovka had a confidential and open atmosphere of communication. The organizers stressed that today we can talk about the status of the event as an international business platform. Over the seven years of the forum, about 150 official documents were signed, of which more than 70 were agreements to attract investments worth more than 700 million rubles to the region’s economy.

Among the promising investment projects in the Mogilev district are the expansion of enterprises, the modernization of agricultural enterprises, the development of tourist infrastructure. Chairman of the Mogilev District Executive Committee Dmitry Mudrogelov noted that the main result of the forum is not the number of signed contracts, but the development of a roadmap for public-private partnership on the scale of the district. Thanks to the investment forum, Mogilev District has established friendly relations with 11 regions of the Russian Federation:

- Of course, any investment forum is focused on attracting investments. But above all, it is a platform that allows you to present new opportunities. For two years now, we have focused on the tourism potential of the region. We have selected new platforms for investors and will talk about new preferences in this area. We have delegations from the Russian Federation and Turkey, so the forum is a platform for businessmen to communicate, where you can outline plans for cooperation, conclude contracts, discuss construction issues.

Dmitry Mudrogelov stressed that giant enterprises are located in the district, which are part of the Mogilev FEZ and implement large-scale projects. But for the economy of the district, every business project, albeit not so large, is important, especially giving an impetus to the development of living conditions in the countryside:

- We showed our Russian partners the innovative company Bair West, which is located in our village Krasnica, but at the same time supplies ventilation equipment for nuclear power plants. All our local businessmen and guests who have come have the opportunity to meet, communicate, establish business connections. Stable, understandable and progressive legislation provides investors with guarantees of investment protection.

The main activities of enterprises of Mogilev district are meat and dairy production, woodworking, production of building materials, trade and not only. The geography of foreign economic activity of enterprises of the region covers more than 40 countries, which indicates the competitiveness of products. The main partner remains the Russian Federation, only over the past five years, the volume of mutual trade of enterprises has doubled, by the end of 2025 amounted to 70 percent of the total foreign trade turnover.

With an area of farmland of more than 100 thousand hectares, Mogilev district is a shaft-forming agricultural production in the region (fifth part). Within the framework of the forum, an exhibition was held with tasting, where participants could be convinced of the diversity of the agro-industrial complex of the district. By the way, for milk, the share of Mogilev district accounts for about 10 percent in the regional figure and more than half of livestock and poultry farmed. Over the past two years, four new ITCs of 600 heads of milking herd each have been built and commissioned in the area. This year, the emphasis was placed on the construction of dispensaries for young animals, three such modern premises with the necessary equipment were built. Currently, the modernization of premises in OJSC "Agrocombinat" Voskhod.

This year, one of the emphasis in investment projects was placed on the development of the agro-industrial complex of the district. So, the agricultural enterprise "Poultry Factory "Elets" plans to reconstruct the buildings of poultry houses for growing broiler chickens and keeping laying hens, as well as the slaughter shop with equipment modernization. Expansion of production is planned by the enterprises of Bair West LLC, Krintex LLC, Uniakva LLC. These companies produce ventilation and air conditioning systems, metal structures, confectionery and beverages. The total investment is 68.5 million rubles.

Within the framework of the forum, a protocol of intent was signed on cooperation of the Mogilev District Executive Committee with Mogilev Blturist and the tourist information center. Emphasis was placed on the development of agro-ecotourism: experts discussed how to turn an ordinary rural estate into a profitable tourist brand. Also, a protocol of intent was signed with an individual entrepreneur on the construction of a campground tourist base with an investment of one million rubles on the basis of the former pioneer camp.

Traditionally, representatives of management and business bodies from the Russian Federation take part in the investment forum. Head of the branch of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Belarus in the city of Mogilev Vladislav Deinego stressed that participation in such forums is a significant contribution to the development of relations between the two states:

- In my opinion, the main wealth of the Mogilev district is the people who created these investment points. It is at the level of direct contacts and partnerships that the base is built, which then develops into a favorable investment climate.

About the investment potential of the Pskov municipal district told its head Natalia Fedorova. Speakers from the Belarusian side focused on state support for entrepreneurship in Belarus. Deputy Chairman of the Economic Committee of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee Natalia Rechitskaya spoke in detail about the state program “Sustainable Entrepreneurship” for 2026-2030. Within the framework of the forum, a protocol of intent was signed on the assistance to innovative enterprises by Mogilev Technology Park OJSC. Director Yevgeny Yakimov spoke about the support of nationally-oriented owners, whose business is based on the use of knowledge and innovation. Deputy head of the administration of FEZ Mogilev Irina Davydenko focused on the advantages of implementing investment projects in the Mogilev district. Traditionally, a children’s economic forum was held within the framework of the investment forum, the purpose of which is to form a new generation of entrepreneurs and leaders from the school bench.
