Kalugastat calculated the number of tourists and companies operating in the region.
Last year, there were 168 travel agencies in the Kaluga region that organized trips, their number increased by 9% over the year.
They provided services to 154 thousand tourists, selling 43 thousand tour packages for 6,204 million rubles.
69.8% of Kaluzhans choose domestic tourism, only 30.2% travel abroad. Outside the region, the most popular destinations are the Krasnodar Territory (37.9%), St. Petersburg (11.3%) and Crimea (9.5%).
Residents of Moscow (70.3%) and St. Petersburg (6.5%) choose the Kaluga region for recreation.
Among the countries for holidays abroad, Turkey (37.6%), Egypt (26.1%), the UAE (12.9%), Thailand (6.9%) and Abkhazia (2.5%) were in the lead.
In the Kaluga region, there are 273 five-star hotels, hotels and hostels, recreation centers, guest houses and glampings, their number increased by 19.7%.
The number of rooms is 8,538, the number of guests who were accommodated in them is 731.1 thousand people.
