The parliamentary delegation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan headed by the Chairman of the Senate Said Yusuf Raza Gilani visited the Minsk Tractor Plant.

Taras Murog, General Director of MTZ, said that Pakistan is a traditional partner of the Belarusian flagship of mechanical engineering: over the long history of cooperation, more than 70 thousand tractors have been delivered to the market of this country.
The most popular model in Pakistan is the Belarus-510. Due to its technical characteristics, it is ideally suited to work on the heavy soils characteristic of this region. Therefore, the main emphasis at the meeting was placed on the supply of equipment both for the current year and for the future, the head of the enterprise said.
Speaking about export volumes, Taras Murog stressed that the plant expects to maintain the indicators of previous years with a gradual increase in its presence, despite logistical challenges. “Logistics today is quite complex, and it is difficult to predict changes in this direction. As for the development of cooperation, both sides have a mutual interest in the resumption of assembly production. The site previously created there suspended the production of equipment due to geopolitical factors, and we discussed in detail the possibilities of restoring assembly work, the general director explained.
The foreign delegation was presented an exposition of the holding’s equipment. The Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan personally assessed the possibilities of mechanical engineering and tested the model of the tractor "Belarus-4522". The guests also had a tour of the Museum and Industrial Center of Labor Glory of MTZ, where they got acquainted with the history and achievements of the enterprise. The parties exchanged gifts and the President of the Senate of Pakistan left an entry in the guest book.
