In September, the planned overhaul was successfully completed at Segezha PPM (part of Segezha Group). For the first time, it was possible to conduct it without a complete stop of production. At the same time, water, steam and air were supplied to the equipment in normal mode, and the BDM-11 continued to produce white paper without interruption.
The main benefits for business are reduced downtime and savings in basic production resources. The start-up after the repair took about a day, the quality targets were reached on the second day, which was a record compared to the traditional seven-day stop. In addition, the economy of chemicals was recorded to restore the technological balance.
The plant also replaced import competences in the field of maintenance. So, after 2022, the foreign manufacturer stopped servicing complex electric motors, and the electricians of the enterprise independently mastered the service of the high concentration refiner engine on the BDM-10. Previously, this experience was gained on the BDM-9.
“The main repairs were carried out in the cooking, paper No. 3 and wood preparation shops, as well as in the chemical hull. In the cooking shop, the boiler was “soured”, the gearbox and separator oils, the flow part of the chipped pump were replaced. On BDM-10 replaced the gauch-shaft, lower shaft press, bearing assembly, hydraulic cylinders and molding mesh. In the wood preparation shop provided uninterrupted logistics: replaced the drive and drum of the main conveyor, feeding chips, updated couplings and tapes. All specialists proved themselves as great professionals, having solved serious tasks in the shortest possible time, commented Maxim Pisarev, Managing Director of Paper and Packaging of Segezha Group PJSC.
