The delegation of the Tashkent region of Uzbekistan is visiting Brest region this week. Today, on October 27, guests from Uzbekistan held a number of meetings aimed at expanding trade and economic cooperation in Pinsk and Pinsk district.

As noted by the First Deputy Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee Dmitry Gorodetsky, cooperation between Brest and Uzbekistan is developing dynamically, which positively affects the growth of trade turnover between the parties:
Relations of the Brest region with Uzbekistan have been developing very closely since 2019. We see that this cooperation gives its good dynamics. Over the past five years, the trade turnover of the Brest region and Uzbekistan has increased fourfold. This year, the pace is not slowing. In almost eight months, we grew by 36 percent in mutual trade. That's a good dynamic. He noted that the parties seek to develop comprehensive cooperation. The priority is mutual trade, cooperation (creation of joint ventures for the production of industrial and agricultural products), logistics.

In turn, the head of the project office for the development of industrial cooperation and public procurement of the Tashkent region Dilshod Rasulov focused on the fact that representatives of Uzbek business are interested in cooperation with Belarusian partners of the region in the field of pharmaceuticals, logistics, flax breeding and food supplies.
- We consider Belarus as an important strategic partner in the field of food security, Rasulov said.
