Most often, small midges, flies or cockroaches climb into the ear canal while a person sleeps, relaxes in nature or just rides a bicycle. What to do in such a situation, said the otorhinolaryngologist of the 19th central district polyclinic of the Pervomaysky district of Minsk Alexander Alisevich on the air of the ONT TV channel, writes sb.by.

The anatomy of the human ear attracts crawling insects. They perceive the ear canal as a shelter. Flyers get there spontaneously. The main danger in both cases is the same: once in a confined space, the insect panics and begins to rush chaotically, trying to get out. Alexandra Alisevich explained the algorithm of actions:
- It is necessary to remain calm, do not panic and give the insect a chance to get out of the ear on its own. To do this, you need to pull the auricle diagonally back and up. If this does not help, you need to instill as much fluid in the ear as possible. From what every house has, ordinary sunflower oil is best suited. It is viscous, which will make it difficult to flounder the insect, which will soon die from lack of oxygen. If you are not at home or do not have oil on hand, water or milk will do.
If the insect is stuck in the external auditory canal, you can wash the ear with warm water with a 10- or 20-milliter syringe or immediately consult a ENT doctor.
- You need to come to the doctor in any case to make sure that there are no parts of the insect’s body left in the ear, said Alexandra Alisevich.
To protect against insects, block them from entering the house. Put mosquito nets on windows from flies and mosquitoes and dense nets for ventilation, through which cockroaches most often penetrate. Also, do not leave food and water in the public domain.
