The case of the former chairman of the court in LPR Gorenko was sent to the court

The TFR completed the investigation of the former judge and chairman of the Belovodsk district court of the LPR Alexander Gorenko. He was charged with fraud, the press service of the TFR reported. The defendant pleaded guilty, the case was sent to court for consideration.

According to the investigation, the judge fraudulently received 4.4 million rubles from a local resident while working as a deputy district prosecutor in Luhansk. In the period from February to August 2021, Gorenko promised the victim for money to release his son from custody and stop his criminal case on drug trafficking. In fact, the attacker did not plan to help the bribe-giver, and took all the money for himself.

About the initiation of a case against Alexander Gorenko with the permission of the High Qualification Board of Judges of the TFR said in July 2026. The defendant himself resigned from the prosecutor’s post on August 9, 2021. In August 2023, he became chairman of the Belovodsky District Court.
