In Bashkir Sterlitamak, a farewell ceremony was held with three sisters who died in a fire in the Solnechny trade and service complex. Hundreds of people gathered for the ceremony, the city administration said.

Two older sisters worked in the burnt-out mall. On the day of the fire, her younger sister came to work. The head of the administration Emil Shaimardanov came to the farewell ceremony. The women will be buried in the New Cemetery next to the Alley of Heroes.

The fire in the shopping center occurred on the afternoon of September 22. The fire spread to 2.1 thousand square meters. Four people were killed and five were injured. According to witnesses, several people jumped out of the windows to escape. “RIA Novosti” wrote that the cause of the fire was a short circuit. On September 23, the owner of the shopping center Sergey Rodionov was detained. In relation to him, cases were initiated on causing death by negligence to two or more persons (part 3 of article 109 of the criminal code of the Russian Federation), as well as on the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, which caused the death of two or more persons by negligence (part 3 of article 238 of the criminal code of the Russian Federation). The court put him under arrest.
