Vigilant pensioner helped police to detain an accomplice of fraudsters in Tver

Thanks to a vigilant pensioner in Tver, police officers detained an accomplice of remote fraudsters.

The scammers called the 76-year-old woman and convinced her to transfer all her savings to the courier allegedly for credit to a secure account. The pensioner cashed 1,369,000 rubles and was already going to hand the money to the courier, but in time she realized that she was dealing with fraudsters.

The elderly woman had a meeting with the courier, and at this time she went to the police. Further meeting of the victim with the accomplice of the scammers took place under the control of operatives. Thus, a resident of Moscow, fulfilling the order of remote curators, was detained.

A criminal case has been initiated against a female courier under part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
