The case of theft of entrusted property was considered in the court of the Tver region

The Nelidovo interdistrict court sentenced a local resident accused of embezzling someone else’s property on a large scale, the press service of the court said.

It was established that the defendant, being an employee of the store and assuming full financial responsibility for the safety of inventory, illegally appropriated seven phones, which he stole from the warehouse and took out of the store without paying at the cash register.

In addition, the defendant, in the absence of appeals from buyers of goods to return money and transfer the purchased goods back to the store, repeatedly issued refunds from the cash register of the store for previously sold goods. The defendant disposed of the stolen phones and money at his discretion, causing material damage to the injured party.

The defendant fully admitted his guilt in the charge, partially repaid the material damage.

Taking into account the circumstances of the case, the court found the defendant guilty of committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and appointed him two years of imprisonment with a two-year probation and recovery in favor of the injured party for compensation for material damage.
