Cat warns two families of gas poisoning in Italy
Wild meowing instead of the usual purring: the animal's vigilance prevented tragedy from leaking carbon monoxide.

In Italy, a story with a happy ending played out, in the main role of which was an ordinary domestic cat. The 29-year-old owner of the pet felt a sharp deterioration in health right at home. Despite severe malaise, she tried to get to work, but at the wheel she became so ill that she had to urgently stop and call an ambulance.
Arriving doctors instantly suspected something was wrong and suggested carbon monoxide poisoning. Later, this hypothesis was confirmed: a dangerous concentration of gas was recorded not only in the apartment, but also on the stairwell of the apartment building.
As it turned out, the first alarm was struck by a cat. While the hostess tried to gather and leave the house, the pet behaved extremely unusually: the animal is continuous and "wild" meow.
The woman needed urgent treatment in the chamber due to quite severe poisoning. Her husband and neighbors upstairs, who were also urgently checked by doctors, were not injured.
The investigation of firefighters quickly revealed the cause of the emergency: a faulty heating boiler, which at launch began to emit gas. The main insidious feature of carbon monoxide (CO) is that it has neither color nor smell. A person can for a long time not notice the leak, writing off headache, nausea and weakness for ordinary fatigue or cold, writes gazeta.ru.
