In the Spanish city of Palma, police detained a man suspected of attacking a passerby with a divorce key

In the Spanish city of Palma, police detained a man suspected of attacking a passer-by with a divorce key. The victim received a head wound, for which doctors had to apply seven or eight stitches. This was reported on November 8 by Europa Press with reference to the Spanish National Police.
The attack took place late in the evening of November 4 on Jacinth Verdager Street. When the police arrived on call, the victim was already provided with medical care.
Witnesses said the alleged attacker was on a bench with a woman in front of the company where the victim was sitting. According to the victim, the man unexpectedly approached them from behind and without warning hit him on the head with a movable key.
After the attack, the suspect fled with a companion. Witnesses described his appearance and several police outfits began searching.
The man was soon found in a nearby bar. On his jacket, the police noticed spots similar to the victim’s blood. Two witnesses were taken there in a separate patrol car. Both identified the alleged attacker.
The detainee himself, through an interpreter, gave another version of what happened. He said that the victim molested him and provoked a conflict, which turned into a fight. As a result of initial investigative actions, the man was detained on suspicion of causing bodily harm.
