In Thailand, a 54-year-old man was detained after a shooting at a school in Nakhon Ratchasima province. According to Khaosod English and Bangkok Post, the reason for the conflict with the teacher was the child’s academic performance: the father was outraged that the teacher discussed his ability to solve simple examples of addition.
According to preliminary data, a man named Manachai Chantasom came to the school to pick up the child. During a conversation with the teacher, a quarrel arose between them. It is assumed that the father was drunk.
During the conflict, Chantas took out a revolver and shot twice in the air. After that, he left in a pickup truck. There were no reports of casualties.
The police located the man and detained him. His weapon was seized. Chantasom was charged with illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, carrying a weapon in a public place without a valid reason, and driving while drunk.
