In Luga district caught three wolves that attacked dogs. This was reported in the press service of the Committee for the protection, control and regulation of the use of wildlife of the Leningrad region.
In early September, the Committee began to receive complaints from residents of the village of Priozerny and the village of Zhiryadki Luga district. They reported the appearance of a wolf in residential areas and attacks on pets. Specialists of the Committee with colleagues from LOGKU "Lenoblokhota" and MOO "LOOIR" conducted a survey and confirmed that the wolf at night entered the private sector, attacked dogs. The committee decided to regulate the number of wolves. The hunter was instructed until October 9 to withdraw three individuals based on the results of the survey and residents of the region.
“To date, all three individuals have been harvested. Work is done. But we continue to monitor the situation and monitor — to be ready if it is necessary to intervene again, — said the press service of the Committee.
Specialists thanked Leningrad residents for their participation and prompt communication of important information. According to the Committee, staff will continue to work with maximum impact.
