In Novomoskovsk man fined 200 thousand rubles for fraud in obtaining a loan

In Novomoskovsk, a man was fined 200 thousand rubles for fraud in obtaining a loan. Together with an accomplice, he stole 1.6 million rubles from the bank, using forged documents for a Kia Sportage car, shared details of the scam with MK in Tula in the joint press service of the courts and the regional DSA.
As the court found, in April 2025, the man colluded with another person. The accomplice produced fictitious documents on the ownership of the car, and the defendant issued a loan of 1.6 million rubles in Sovcombank on the security of the allegedly owned car.
The money went to the bank account of the man on the day of the contract. Having received the funds, both participants in the scheme disposed of them at their discretion and were not going to repay the loan. The damage to the bank amounted to 1.6 million rubles.
On November 6, 2026, the Novomoskovskiy District Court found the man guilty. Initially, he was fined 210 thousand rubles, but taking into account the time spent in custody, the amount was reduced to 200 thousand. The convict will be able to pay it for 20 months in equal parts - 10 thousand rubles per month.
The civil claim of the bank was left without consideration. The sentence has not yet entered into force and can be appealed.
Earlier, MK in Tula reported that since the beginning of 2026, 1,685 crimes using IT technologies have been registered in the region.
They accounted for 36% of all recorded offenses. At the same time, the number of such crimes decreased by a quarter compared to the same period last year. Most often, residents have faced remote fraud.
