In Novomoskovsk, employees of the 25th fire and rescue unit helped a dog that fell into an abandoned basement and could not get out on its own. The animal was at a depth of about four meters.
The incident was reported in the evening on the emergency service 112. The caller said that in an abandoned barn, the dog fell into the basement. Rescuers were promptly sent to the scene.
Arriving at the specified address, the Emergencies Ministry staff assessed the situation and found a frightened dog at the bottom of the basement. As it turned out, the animal was well known to local residents: the dog was considered common, and residents of the surrounding houses regularly fed it.
During the evening walk, the dog stumbled and fell into a hole. Due to the depth of the basement, he could not independently rise to the surface, so it was impossible to do without the help of rescuers.
Staff from the 25th Fire and Rescue Unit went downstairs and carefully lifted the animal upstairs. After the rescue, the dog was examined. He was not found to have fractures or serious injuries. The dog was wrapped so that it could warm and dry.
Soon, the four-legged pet recovered and again began to wag its tail. For rescuers, the successful completion of this story was an important result of the work.
“We are not only saving people. Every life is important, and if we can help, we will. This dog is a local favorite, and the fact that he wags his tail again is the best reward for us.
The Russian Emergencies Ministry reminds that rescuers come to the rescue not only in case of fires and other emergencies, but also when animals are in danger.
If you witness an incident or need help, call the emergency number 112 or the fire and rescue number 101.
Earlier, “MK in Tula” published footage from the scene. They show how rescuers work at a burning hangar: flames are knocked out of the openings, and dense clouds of smoke roll up.
