Suspect turned himself in to police and surrendered after killing man

In the Chilean city of Nasimiento, a man voluntarily appeared to police after investigators established his alleged involvement in the murder of a local resident. The victim suffered gunshot wounds and died. This was reported on November 7 by TV channel T13 with reference to the Chilean investigative police.

The crime took place in the Biobio region. After the discovery of the deceased, employees of the murder investigation department from the city of Los Angeles and specialists of the forensic laboratory arrived at the scene.

The police examined the scene, recorded the situation and collected traces associated with the use of firearms. The obtained materials were used to establish the circumstances of the attack and search for the alleged killer.

According to Commissioner Samuel Lopez, the investigative actions made it possible to establish the identity of the person who could directly commit the crime. Shortly thereafter, the suspect independently came to the Carabinieri unit in Nasimiento and surrendered to law enforcement.

The investigation is continuing under the direction of the prosecutor's office. Investigators will have to establish the motive for the attack and the circumstances preceding the murder.
