Police detained the girl-courier, who helped to deceive the pensioner from Tver

In Tver, police detained a 22-year-old student from the Vladimir region, who worked as a courier for remote fraudsters.

The scammers called the 74-year-old pensioner and, under the guise of law enforcement officers, convinced her to “declar” 1,100,000 rubles. Confident that she was acting on the instructions of the special services, an elderly woman gave the money to a girl courier. The student transferred the funds to their remote curators through a crypto wallet.

The girl admitted her guilt. A criminal case was opened against her under part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, she faces up to 10 years in prison.
