Prosecutor’s office of Svetlogorsk district revealed violations of wood accounting and landfill in the forest

The prosecutor's office of Svetlogorsk district together with the inter-district inspection of the protection of flora and fauna checked the conduct of forestry activities in the district - a number of violations were identified. This was reported in the information service of the Prosecutor’s office of the Gomel region, writes sb.by.

During the supervisory measures, the export of harvested timber from the timber sector to intermediate timber industrial warehouses, fixation of volumes, species and assortments of harvested timber products, accounting for timber in a single state automated system, as well as storing timber in the territory of the forest fund were studied.

Prosecutors established that in one of the loggers for more than a year, wood of various species with a total volume of 11.62 cubic meters was not exported. In the unified state automated system there was no information about its procurement. Due to the long-term storage of timber, including business, under the open sky there was a natural deterioration in their quality.

Three forestry warehouses have established facts of discrepancy between the actual volume of harvested wood stored there and the volume reflected in a single state automated system. Such violations of accounting contribute to theft, substitution of the quality of raw materials for low-grade.

For example, in the intermediate warehouse there were wood pine trees more than 50 cubic meters. There was no information about this wood in the state accounting system.

In addition, an unauthorized landfill of household waste was found on the territory of one of the forest areas.

As a result, the prosecutor of the Svetlogorsk district sent to the director of the Svetlogorsk Forestry Farm an idea to eliminate the revealed violations of legislation in the field of forestry, as well as the causes and conditions that contributed to them.

In compliance with the requirements of the act of supervision, wood was exported, registered, its quality assessment was carried out. Reliable information about harvested wood has been entered into the relevant state accounting. Domestic waste was removed from the forest.

For the violations committed, two perpetrators were brought to disciplinary responsibility. At the request of the prosecutor's office of the Svetlogorsk district, the forester and tractor driver were brought to administrative responsibility for violating the rules of forest management.

The forest is an important strategic resource of the state. The state of affairs in this industry is constantly in the field of view of the prosecutor's office.
