Missing girl found at night with a friend from social networks

In the Japanese city of Asahikawa, police found a missing minor along with a man she met on social media. A resident of the city of Tomakomay was detained on suspicion of kidnapping a girl. On November 8, HBC reported with reference to law enforcement agencies.

According to investigators, the man, who worked in a private company, knew about the underage age of his friend, but convinced her to meet. Without the permission of his parents, he traveled with the girl on Asahikawa. The alleged crime lasted from 14:42 on November 7 until 01:04 the next day.

After 21:30 the mother of the minor went to the police. She said her daughter left home and never came back.

The police began searching, interviewed friends of the missing and received information about the man with whom she could be. Having established his identity and possible places of stay, the staff continued the search activities.

Shortly after 01:00, law enforcement officers found the man along with the girl. The minor was placed under police protection. There is reportedly no threat to her life.

After additional checks on the morning of November 8, the suspect was detained. During the interrogation, he partially denied the suspicions, saying that the circumstances of the incident were incorrectly stated.

Investigators are investigating when the man met the girl, whether they had met before and what prompted him to arrange the meeting. He is also being investigated for his possible involvement in other similar episodes.
