Family quarrel ended in tragedy: Ulyanovsk accused of murder of father

In Ulyanovsk completed the investigation of the criminal case of the murder of a man in an apartment on Novosondetsky Boulevard. His own son is accused of the crime. According to investigators, the conflict between the relatives ended in strangulation of the victim.

The tragedy occurred on the night of July 29, 2026 in one of the apartment buildings of the Zavolzhsky district of Ulyanovsk.

According to investigators, between the father and son there was a conflict on the basis of personal hostility. The reason for the quarrel, according to the investigation, was insignificant.

During the conflict, the defendant, while in the apartment, attacked his father, who was in the bathroom at the time, and strangled him.

The cause of death was mechanical asphyxia. The man died at the scene.

On the fact of the incident, a criminal case was opened under part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Murder”. The investigation was carried out by employees of the Zavolzhsky investigative department with operational support of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

During the investigation, the accused was detained. The court chose the appropriate preventive measure at the request of the investigator.

The collection of evidence has now been completed. The prosecutor's office approved the indictment, after which the materials of the criminal case were sent to the court for consideration on the merits.

For murder under part 1 of article 105 of the criminal code of the Russian Federation is punishable by imprisonment for a term of six to fifteen years. The final decision on the guilt of the accused and the imposition of punishment will be taken by the court.
