SK opened a case after a fire on the roof of a five-story building in Ufa

The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Bashkiria opened a criminal case on the fact of a fire on the roof of an apartment building in Ufa. This was reported to the department.

The case was opened under part 1 of article 216 of the criminal code of the Russian Federation. This rule concerns the violation of safety rules during construction work, which negligence caused major damage.

The fire occurred on October 9 in the house number 16 on the street Richard Sorge. The tent roof of the building caught fire. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, more than 40 people were evacuated from the house. The area of fire was almost 900 square meters.

Two men who worked on the roof were hospitalized in serious condition. The investigation believes that the cause was a fire during the overhaul of the roof. There has also been significant damage to apartment owners.

The Prosecutor’s office of Bashkortostan said that law enforcement officers establish the causes of the fire, the amount of damage and persons responsible for compliance with security requirements. The investigation is ongoing.
