Fatal accident on the highway M1: under Baranovichi truck to death hit a pedestrian
The driver of a heavy truck, trying to avoid a collision with a GAZ trailer standing on the roadway, hit a person on the 196th kilometer of the M1-E30 highway.
In Baranovichi district of Brest region there was a fatal road accident. According to the Department of Internal Affairs of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, on September 23 at about 11:50 on the 196th kilometer of the M1-E30 highway (direction from Brest to Minsk) a man died.
According to preliminary information, a 58-year-old resident of the Minsk region drove a Volvo tractor with a Schmitz semi-trailer. The driver collided with an Aftos trailer in a coupling with a GAZ car, which was located between the extreme right and technical lanes. After the impact, the heavy truck hit a 52-year-old resident of Baranovichi, standing on the roadway near the car. From the injuries, the pedestrian died at the scene.
On this fact, the investigation will give a legal assessment of the circumstances of the accident.
The traffic police reminds drivers of the need to slow down in case of obstacles, and pedestrians to make sure that there is no approaching transport when entering the road due to standing cars or objects that limit visibility.
