Tanker exploded on mine in the Strait of Hormuz, said the military of Iran
Iranian military reported the explosion of an oil tanker on a mine near the eastern part of the Strait of Hormuz

The Iranian military reported the explosion of an oil tanker on a mine near the eastern part of the Strait of Hormuz. According to the Iranian Navy, the vessel disabled navigation systems and headed through the closed zone. This is reported by the Agency Fars.
In a statement, the Iranian military said that the tanker violated the established regime of navigation and exploded on a mine. Other details of the incident, including information on the condition of the ship and possible victims, are not provided.
The incident came amid Iran's ongoing standoff with the US and Israel. On February 28, Washington and Tel Aviv began striking targets on Iranian territory. Tehran responded with its own attacks.
In mid-June, the United States and Iran signed a memorandum that envisaged launching the process of preparing a peace agreement. But three weeks later, tensions escalated again. Washington accused Tehran of attacks on commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz, after which the parties resumed the exchange of strikes.
Now free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz is not carried out.
