The former Vice-Governor of Kuban Nesterenko seized property

Prikubansky district court of Krasnodar ruled in a civil case on the seizure of property from the former Deputy Governor of Krasnodar region Alexander Nesterenko and his wife. We are talking about residential premises and a car – these assets were turned into the property of the Russian Federation.

Earlier, in August 2026, Nesterenko was found guilty under part 3 of article 286 of the criminal code. The court sentenced him to 9 years in prison in a general regime colony, and also banned him from holding positions in the civil service for 3 years. In addition, 146.7 million rubles were recovered from the convict as compensation for property damage.

The basis for the civil claim was a serious discrepancy between the income of the family and its expenses. It was established that in the period from 2022 to 2024, Nesterenko and his wife purchased property worth more than 20 million rubles, which significantly exceeded their officially confirmed income. At the same time, the defendants were unable to document the sources of funds spent on purchases.

An additional violation was the provision of inaccurate and incomplete information about the income of the wife in the declarations that Nesterenko filed while in public office.

The court concluded that the actions of the former official led to illegal enrichment and violated the interests of the state. In this regard, the seizure of property is recognized as a legal civil measure of responsibility for corruption offenses.

In addition to the circulation of assets to the state, the court ordered to adjust the documents on the dismissal of Nesterenko. The wording “to dismiss on their own initiative” is prescribed to be replaced by “to dismiss in connection with loss of trust for committing a corruption offense”. The former official must, within 5 working days from the date of entry into force of the decision, submit his employment record to the administration of the Krasnodar Territory - appropriate changes will be made there.

This decision is subject to immediate execution, the joint press service of the courts of the Krasnodar Territory reports.
