In St. Petersburg convicted the couple for treason and work on intelligence of Ukraine

The city court of St. Petersburg found Oksana Ronzhes and Artem Sakharov guilty of treason. Each was sentenced to 13 years in prison. This was reported in the joint press service of the city courts.

Ronges will serve time in a general regime colony, Sakharov in a strict regime colony. Their case was qualified under article 275 of the criminal code.

According to the investigation, in January 2024, the defendants, who do not agree with the policy of the country’s leadership and the conduct of the SVO, got in touch through the messenger with an employee of the military intelligence of Ukraine. He offered to help them go to Ukraine if they carry out tasks against the security of Russia.

With the money received, the couple bought a new phone and a SIM card for conspiracy, and also installed the Signal messenger. Among the tasks performed: photos of the power line support in St. Petersburg, checking the presence and operation of a certain center and the car of its chairman. They also traveled to the Murmansk region, where they filmed the area and measured the level of the Internet signal near the military airfield. They also tried to locate the woman and her car.

From the task to transport the drone defendants refused. FSB officers detained both men in the Saratov region as they tried to leave for Kazakhstan. The court confiscated money in the amount of 343 732 rubles, phones and Sakharov’s car.

A resident of the Irkutsk region received 15 years in prison for trying to join the AFU: he arrived in Shebekino, Belgorod region, to illegally cross the border and fight against the Russian military, but was detained by the FSB. The court found him guilty of attempted treason and attempted participation in a terrorist organization.
