In Tarbagatai district of Buryatia, police detained a 55-year-old local resident who is suspected of stealing a bicycle worth 13 thousand rubles.

The police asked a local resident who left a bicycle near the store without an anti-theft device. When she returned, she discovered she was missing. According to police, the man was walking past the outlet, noticed an unattended bicycle and decided to pick it up for personal use.

The suspect got on his bike and headed home. However, the road passed uphill, and the man could not cope with physical exertion. He left his bike on the way and continued walking.

The vehicle was found by residents of neighboring houses. They took the bike away for safekeeping, believing it had been left behind by children, and placed an announcement about the find. Police later seized the property and returned it to the owner.
