The defendant was a 51-year-old local resident, previously repeatedly brought to criminal responsibility. According to the operational group, the detained man is suspected of entering an apartment on Karl Marx Street, from where money and jewelry were stolen, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region reports.
In the course of subsequent investigative actions and operational measures, the detainee was further convicted of committing similar crimes. It is established that he was also involved in the theft of jewelry from apartments on the streets of Radishchev and Sandalov.
Criminal cases were initiated against the man under paragraph "a" of part 3 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. It is noteworthy that the defendant has already been convicted 5 times for committing similar crimes. During the search, stolen valuables, money, including foreign currency, as well as hacking tools were seized from him. The attacker has been arrested.
