Branch pierced the breasts of an 11-year-old girl from County Cornwall

In the UK, a nine-year-old girl tragically died when a sharp bitch pierced her chest. This was reported by Cornwall Live. On September 21, the Cornwall County Chief Coroner announced the results of the investigation into the incident that occurred on August 16, 2025 at Walker Key Beach near Torpoint.

Lilly Angel Rogers, who was 11 years old at the time, spent time there with two friends and their relatives. While adults cooked the treat on the grill, the children had fun on the sludge shoals near the shore: they came down from a small hill and crawled on the ground, playing soldiers. Suddenly, Lilly grabbed her chest and fell on her face in the mud. Hearing her screams, her parents rushed to help and called an ambulance crew. However, due to the swampy terrain, the evacuation was difficult, and only 40 minutes later, the girl was taken by helicopter to a medical facility, but doctors were unable to save her life.

According to the coroner's report, during the descent from the hill, Rogers chest bumped into a sharp bitch hidden under silt, which entered the body to a depth of seven centimeters, damaging the pulmonary artery. The forensic physician noted that if the branch had entered only a centimeter in the other direction, it would have rested on the rib, and the child would have escaped with slight scratches. The coroner recognized the incident as unpredictable and extremely sad case.
