In Monchegorsk, police detained a local resident who took food out of the store under a jacket

In Monchegorsk, police detained a local resident who took food out of the store under a jacket. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Murmansk region.
An employee at the chain store told police that the visitor openly took the groceries and left without paying for the goods. A man born in 1976 took seeds, pistachios, sunflower oil, condensed milk and chocolate bars from the shelves. All this he hid under the outerwear, and the products visibly protruded from under the jacket. The salesman saw it.
The woman asked to pay for the goods, but the man did not respond and left. At the self-service checkout, he only paid for a loaf to deflect suspicion. He disposed of the products at his discretion. The damage to the store amounted to about 1.3 thousand rubles.
This was considered robbery, not theft. The suspect was arrested. He was previously convicted of theft by a local resident. A case of robbery was opened, the maximum penalty is up to four years in prison. Now he's on a no-departure notice.
Earlier, “MK in Murmansk” said that the cheese past the cash register cost a resident of Monchegorsky district in a criminal case.
