Residents of the Arkhangelsk region go to the forest for berries and get lost
Last weekend, AOSS rescuers twice went in search of people who did not return from the forest

Last weekend, AOSS rescuers traveled twice to search for people who did not return from the forest. Both cases ended safely, the rescue service said.
In the Verkhnetoemsky district on September 17, a man born in 1963 disappeared. He went for cranberries from the village of Ushchazh towards Timoshino. In the forest rescuers found his bicycle. The man is poorly guided and has health characteristics.
On September 19, rescuers and an AOSS cynologist joined the search. The swamp was examined using a quadcopter and thermal imager, but this did not bring results. The next morning, local residents found a man 2.5 kilometers from the road. He was taken out of the forest and handed over to his relatives.
In the Kholmogorsk district on the evening of September 19, a man born in 1940 disappeared. He went for berries to the swamp behind Lake Ryulkovo.
Volunteers of PSO “North”, rescuers, AOSS cynologist and Pathfinder specialists participated in the search. On September 20, at about 12:00, the man’s basket was found, and after 40 minutes, he himself. The man was overcooled and exhausted. Rescuers took him to the M-8 highway. No hospitalization was required.
The rescue service noted that both searches ended safely thanks to the joint work of rescuers, volunteers and local residents. Northerners are asked to take care of themselves in the forest: inform their loved ones about the route, take a charged phone and necessary medicines, and if they feel worse or lose landmarks, do not postpone seeking help.
