The Moscow Exchange is preparing to launch trading in pairs bitcoin / ruble and bitcoin / quasi-dollar, told RBC Investments the head of the supervisory board of the trading platform Sergey Shvetsov on the sidelines of the Moscow financial forum — 2026. By quasi-dollar, the top manager understands the USDRUB TOM instrument, which is also called the “analogue” of the dollar or the “synthetic dollar” (USDx/RUB).
We are going to launch BTC/USDx and BTC/RUB pairs, as well as with other digital currencies. Thus, participants will be able to apply for both rubles and quasi-dollars. Taking into account the USDx/RUB already being traded, they will have a so-called “triangle” of three interrelated instruments, which increases the efficiency of the participants’ operations.
Earlier, Shvetsov said that the Moscow Exchange will be technically ready to launch cryptocurrency trading by December 1.
The Bank of Russia noted that the launch of organized trading of cryptocurrency will simplify its turnover and allow more effectively to redistribute liquidity between market participants, which will give investors an additional opportunity to buy the asset at the best price.
Experts polled by RBC Investments believe that such bidding will increase the efficiency of participants’ operations, and the bitcoin/ruble pair may become one of the most popular on the market.
