The index of the Moscow exchange again rose above 2300 points
The Russian stock market is supported by hopes of reducing geopolitical tensions

The index of the Moscow Exchange (IMOEX) increased by 1.15% compared to the closing of the main session on Friday and reached 2303.39 points, according to trading data at 10:50 GMT.
The Russian stock market is set for a restrained increase and is responding to reports of a possible trilateral negotiations with the United States on the Ukrainian crisis before the end of October, said Elena Kozhukhova, an analyst at Veles Capital. The United States is considering a deal with Russia on LUKOIL’s foreign assets, which is also one of the main candidates for an attractive interim dividend for the nine months of 2026.

Shares of LUKOIL are rising after The New York Times reported that the deal with foreign assets of the company was on the agenda of negotiations between Russia and the United States on the Ukrainian settlement. The company has a significant weight in the Moscow Exchange index (16.53%), which gives it strong support.
Novatek shares are also rising in price, reacting to the news that Russia sharply increased LNG exports in September, increasing supplies by 35% year-on-year to 3.36 million tons. The main increase was in the Asian direction.
