Interregional dialogue is an effective tool for building joint potential: it allows us to launch specific creative projects, strengthen economic ties and deepen mutual trust between the peoples of Belarus and Uzbekistan. Chairman of the Standing Commission of the Council of the Republic on International Affairs and National Security Sergey Aleynik, following the talks with the leadership of the Tashkent region, noted:

- As part of our inter-parliamentary contacts, we pay very serious attention to the development of interregional cooperation. Joint Belarusian-Uzbek regional forums are held on a regular basis. Last year, the fourth such forum was held, which was held in the status of an inter-parliamentary forum. More than 60 contracts worth about 420 million Belarusian rubles were signed. More than 20 agreements were signed, which related to the expansion of interregional, interdepartmental, interuniversity cooperation. Therefore, the interregional dimension is one of the most important in our work.

The parliamentarian said that the meeting also discussed projects in areas in which both countries have competences and opportunities to work together:

- First of all, it is a joint venture for the production of cable products in Uzbekistan. As well as a number of specific projects in the field of industry, agriculture, potato production, beets. For example, during the current visit, Uzbek guests visited Brest region, where a joint project on raising cattle was launched.

Hokim of Tashkent region in communication with journalists added that cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan is developing thanks to friendly relations between the leaders of the states:

- Because of this, all doors are open to us. It is no secret that Minsk and Tashkent have established twinning relations, and this also contributes to closer contact. But we are working not only with Minsk and Minsk region, but also with other regions, because there is great potential in interregional cooperation. Today, three Belarusian enterprises are successfully operating in our region. For our part, we are also interested in opening three enterprises in the Minsk region.
