ATOR explained the refusal of Turkish hotels to settle single men

Some Turkish hotels may refuse to accommodate single men or only move in with prior approval, but this practice is not common in the country's hotel industry. About it in the Association of tour operators of Russia (ATOR) reported RBC.
“No “new restrictions” in Turkey now no one introduces, the situation is the same as in recent years, no “mass refusals” to Russians in settling in hotels in Turkey there”, – said in ATOR, commenting on the spread in the Network materials about “the introduction of Turkish hotels restrictions for the occupancy of men”.
This practice has been around for decades and each hotel decides whether to follow it. The state does not regulate this policy. Hotels set their own rules and tour operators are usually aware of such restrictions. On the websites of tour operators there are lists of hotels with similar rules, which are updated every year.
Travel agencies should warn customers about such features when choosing a tour, noted in ATOR. If a tourist buys a tour through the operator's website, he should read the information in the hotel card.
When self-booking through online aggregators, the tourist must find information in advance on the website of the aggregator, hotel or tour operator. Most hotels are booked through travel agents, so there are almost no mass refusals to settle in place. Specialists usually check the compliance of the client’s application parameters with the hotel requirements in advance to avoid problems with occupancy, the association explained.
