The Osinsky District Court found him guilty under Part 1 of Art. 255 of the Criminal Code of Russia - a violation of the rules for the protection and use of subsoil. According to Bezhanyan, he must compensate almost 140 million rubles. damage caused to the Tulva Bay of Kama during the extraction of the sand and gravel mixture in January-April 2024.
According to URA.ru, Gosleskhoz LLC, which is headed by Bezhanyan, produced the mixture at the Iryakovskoye field without a technical project and if Rosrybolovstvo refused to coordinate the work. In 2024, the regional Ministry of Natural Resources revealed violations, after which the license was suspended
Bejanyan does not admit guilt and considers the amount of damage unproven. The defense plans to file a cassation appeal. According to URA.ru, the issue of the amount of damage is also considered in the arbitration court.
The court of first instance ordered Bejanyan 400 hours of compulsory work, but released him from punishment due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.

In April 2025, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against Bezhanyan under Article 255 of the Criminal Code of Russia (violation of the rules for the protection and use of subsoil).
Bezhanyan himself suggested that this may be due to the once obtained license for mining. However, from June 2024, it was suspended, he said. The businessman also said that in the same year his site was checked by the environmental Prosecutor’s office. After that check, he was issued an administrative fine of 10 thousand rubles.
In 2019, Bezhanyan was elected a deputy of the Osin City Duma. In the autumn of 2021, the regional Ministry of Property filed against him in the Arbitration Court. The deputy was accused of unjustified enrichment when using a land plot that is in regional ownership. The litigation lasted almost a year, its result was the decision of the judge to recover from the businessman in favor of the Ministry 387.4 thousand rubles.
