Vyborg district court of St. Petersburg fined the leader of the party “Yabloko” Nikolai Rybakov 1 thousand rubles for spoiling the ballots, reports TASS.
According to police protocol, on the morning of September 20, Rybakov wrote political slogans on four ballots with green and red markers at polling station No. 360 in gymnasium No. 105 on Orbeli Street. Then he published in the telegram channel photos in which he puts the ballots in the ballot box.
The protocol states that Rybakov “neglected the interests of other voters”, demonstrated disrespect for society and allowed damage to other people’s property.
Rybakov himself did not agree that he committed an offence. In a written explanation, he stated that in this way he expressed his civil and political position, and put the ballots in the ballot box unharmed.
According to the politician, when he was at the polling station, there were no other voters there, and members of the election commission treated him kindly. Fisherman asked not to bring him to administrative responsibility.
Rybakov did not appear at the court hearing, his interests were represented by lawyers.
Initially, Yabloko was included in the federal lists in the elections to the State Duma, but later the Supreme Court of Russia satisfied the claim of the Rodina party and canceled the registration of the federal list of candidates from Yabloko. The plaintiff pointed to violations of the legislation on intellectual property during campaigning, the receipt of funds from persons who received foreign funding, and the distribution of campaign materials through foreign platforms.
