Insurers called how fraudsters are trying to cheat with OSAGO and CASCO
OSAGO and Casco occupy 85% of the total number of established fraudulent actions, and the most frequent schemes are the falsification of the circumstances of the accident, including the staging of a collision on a standing car, reversing and “stand-up” on a roundabout, said the Vice President of the All-Russian Union of Insurers (VSS) Sergey Efremov in an interview with Rg.ru.

According to him, non-contact accidents and the classic “set-up” are also common, when a car with accidents turned on leaves, and a fraudster hits the rearranged driver in the side. The “parallel import” scheme is actively used for the casco, in which the car sunk abroad is restored, overpriced and insured at market value.
Efremov noted an increase in fraud in life and health (about 7%) and property (about 8%). These are retroactive insurance, falsification of bodily injuries, multiple contracts from an accident, as well as imitation of theft or arson of property of legal entities.
To combat fraudulent schemes, insurers study each event in detail, use information bases, photo-video recording and graph models, the vice-president of the VSS noted.
On September 10, Izvestia, citing market participants, reported that several insurance companies are preparing to launch auto insurance against damage from drone strikes.
