Neuralink technology will allow paralyzed people to walk and use their hands again in the coming years, founder Elon Musk said on X.

“In the years to come, Neuralink will allow people to walk and use their hands again,” Musk wrote.

Neuralink, founded by Musk in 2016, is developing chips for implantation in the human brain that provide communication with a computer. Among the company’s projects are Telepathy for controlling devices for paralysis, Blindsight for restoring vision in total blindness, as well as interfaces for the treatment of neurological and psychiatric diseases.

Neuralink implants are completely wireless and invisible. To install them, the company has developed a surgical robot that can speed up surgery by 11 times and is suitable for 99% of patients.

In August 2024, Musk admitted that with the successful development of the technology, hundreds of people will receive Neuralink implants in a few years, tens of thousands in five years, and millions in ten years.
