In Krasnoyarsk, police neutralized the bear, which went to a residential area and began to approach people, the press service of the regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

The incident occurred at night in the Sverdlovsk district of the city. The police received a report about a bear that wandered along the street Kolkhoznaya, roared and almost bit a yard dog.

“The predator behaved aggressively and deliberately moved towards the police and nearby citizens. By his actions, the beast created an immediate danger to the life and health of people, the Interior Ministry said.

To protect residents and colleagues, one of the police officers used a firearm. As a result of the incident, no one was injured.

Earlier, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry of the Krasnoyarsk Territory reported that by October 16, 1,016 brown bears had been killed in the region as part of population regulation. The department warned about the danger of predators in certain areas and urged residents to refrain from going to the forest.
