In the city of Abaza, several bears were spotted at night. Three aggressive predators were shot, said Deputy head of Khakassia Dmitry Buchenyk. He called the night "disturbing.".

According to Mr. Buchenik, the bears had to be driven away in the area of the city bridge, the gardens of Abazy-Zarechnaya, as well as at the suburban society “Cheremushki”. The Taiga city is in fact under a bear siege - the outputs of the animals were recorded from all sides. Some animals were chased away, but three were killed (one bear was huge), the official told Max.

According to regional authorities, there are 2,245 brown bears in Khakassia. In four years, the number of predators in the region increased by 35%. This week, the authorities of Khakassia announced plans to introduce a high alert regime due to the increased incidence of bears in settlements. The authorities of Khakassia offered the Ministry of Natural Resources to extend the validity of the permit for hunting the bear.
