The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation has included three foreign NGOs from Ukraine, Great Britain and Germany in the list of undesirable organizations. The information is published on the website of the department.
The list of undesirable organizations included the Ukrainian civil education center Almenda, founded in Crimea, which has been operating since 2011, and the German Foundation for Support of Ethnic Germans Abroad (Stiftung Verbundenheit mit den Deutschen im Ausland). Also included in the register is the British association Friends of Falun Gong Europe, created to support followers of the Chinese Falun Gong movement (another name is Falun Dafa; recognized in Russia as an undesirable organization and banned). The structures of this movement were banned in Russia in 2020.
The basis for updating the list was the decisions of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation adopted in September. The exact reasons for recognizing the organizations as undesirable were not specified.
