Farmers of the Chelyabinsk region provide food security of the country

The implementation of the national project “Technological provision of food security”, announced by the head of state Vladimir Putin, in the Chelyabinsk region treated with our inherent responsibility. With the support of the regional government, since January 2026, the Southern Urals produced 7.8% more cereals (129.9 thousand tons). This amount allows you to completely eliminate the need for pasta, flour and porridge not only of countrymen, but also residents of other regions of the country.

Our farmers earn their honest work recognition not only in the region, but also at the federal level. At the All-Russian agricultural exhibition "Golden Autumn - 2026" in Moscow, the award was presented to a resident of the Troitsky district. Gullira Shayakhmetova from the village of Belozeri took second place in the federal competition “Women in the AIC” in the nomination “Who, if not me?”. The head of the farm started her business 11 years ago: a grant from the Ministry of Agriculture and support for relatives helped.

After eight years, the acreage of grain crops tripled, and the production area doubled. The Shayakhmetov family rebuilt warehouses and purchased equipment. In 2018, sheep settled the farm. The spouses shared duties: the husband monitors the crops, and the wife is engaged in livestock, shepherds, shears, heals. “I’m a farmer who likes to do everything himself,” Gullira says.

In addition, the woman is engaged in deputy work in her native village: she helps veterans, takes care of kindergarten and school, conducts excursions for children.

“It is on such caring and dedicated people that the Southern Urals rests. I thank all the employees of the industry for their important work. For our part, we will continue to systematically support the agro-industrial complex and invest in the development of rural areas, said the Governor of the Chelyabinsk region Alexey Texler.

The head of the region added that this award at the contest “Women in the agro-industrial complex” for the Southern Urals is not the first. Three years ago, Olga Segal, the manager of fruit and berry gardens in the Kaslin district, received the same nomination. “Working in the countryside is not only hard work and perseverance in achieving your goals, but above all love for what you do. The victory in the contest “Women in the agro-industrial complex” is another confirmation – where there is such a person, the village lives and develops, says Inna Podshiva, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Chelyabinsk region.

In addition to a wide range of forms of state support for farmers (concessional loans, grants, subsidies, consultations), in the Southern Urals, much attention is paid to attracting the younger generation to agricultural professions. Over the past two years, 36 agricultural classes have been opened in the region with the assistance of the governor, where children in practice test themselves in popular profiles, study breeding, genetics and agroengineering in depth. 34 million rubles were spent on equipping special rooms. By 2030, there will be 100 such profile classes in the Chelyabinsk region. It is also planned to create a separate cluster “Agriculture” on the basis of the South Ural Agroindustrial College.

The regional government provides serious assistance to the South Ural State Agro University. At the expense of the regional budget, a youth laboratory was created at the university, the gym was repaired, and the received grant of 20 million was sent to the development of science in the field of agriculture.

South Ural enterprises are also involved in joint work. The budget compensates the production costs for the paid practice of students.

Today, the national project “Personnel in the AIC” is being implemented. It involves both the formation of agricultural classes and work with colleges and universities. This system is built so that the child became interested from school, and then could go through the system of secondary or higher education. The target set allows you to send children to study for further work in municipalities, so we form young personnel. And I must say that today work in the field is high-tech work, says Alexey Texler.
