In the City Clinical Emergency Hospital of Minsk, doctors rescued a 24-year-old patient with crushed lungs and other serious injuries, who survived clinical death. The possibility of curing the young man was given by ECMO technology, which the doctors of the metropolitan BSMP successfully master with severe combined injury.

Maxim Matveev from Molodechno received a serious injury: he was trapped between two heavy trucks. The young man had broken all ribs, seriously damaged lungs, diagnosed craniocerebral and closed injuries to the chest, abdomen and pelvis. In an extremely serious condition, Maxim was taken to the Minsk City Clinical Emergency Hospital.

Even in the intensive care room, doctors began to fight for the life of a young man. The oxygen content in the blood remained critically low, Maxim could not breathe on his own. Initially, experts identified bilateral pneumothorax and performed drainage of the pleural cavities, but this did not give a pronounced effect. Computed tomography showed the scale of the problem: both lungs were actually crushed.

In such situations, the possibilities of traditional artificial ventilation of the lungs are extremely limited, said the chief doctor Olga Svetlitskaya:

- If lung tissue is destroyed, filled with blood or unable to participate in gas exchange, oxygen ceases to enter the body. Previously, such damage left almost no chance of survival.

Against the background of a serious injury, Maxim suffered clinical death, which lasted up to five minutes. Blood circulation was restored, but it was obvious: without the use of special technologies, it is impossible to save the patient. Already in the first hours after admission, he was connected to the apparatus of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, or ECMO.

In the Pinsky district, a 17-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car, who was moving along the road without a flicker. Fortunately, everyone survived, but not without injuries. Unfortunately, not everyone got rid of inattention and carelessness. On the eve of the school holidays, SB journalists went to the raid with traffic police officers not only to stop violations, but also to warn young pedestrians and their parents.

The summer heat has long receded, but the winter cold has not yet burst. This time the guys use for street games, in which sometimes forget about the safety rules. Having left for the raid with inspectors of the traffic police of the Mingory Executive Committee, they stopped at the school in one of the districts of the capital. State traffic inspector Valentin Tyalash points to a designated area where parents can drop off their children.

- This is a so-called pocket, where the driver can drive and safely, on the right side of the road, drop off the student. - We fenced him off on purpose. Before, as it happened: in a hurry on their business, mom or dad almost on the roadway left their children. Of course, it provoked an accident.

In fact, a really good security infrastructure has been created near educational institutions. However, it is not uncommon for both adults and children to cross the road where it is prohibited.
