The trip, as expected, ended in an accident. Having left the car in a ditch, the young people fled. The car suffered serious damage. The hostess estimated them at 1.8 million rubles.
The Vsevolozhsk city court found both guilty of theft by a group of persons on preliminary conspiracy with causing particularly large damage. The car wash guard received 4 years of suspended imprisonment, his accomplice - 3 years probation. The issue of compensation for material damage (the victim claimed 2.6 million rubles) was transferred for consideration in civil proceedings.
This court decision did not suit the woman. She filed a complaint with the Court of Appeal. And he even reduced the punishment of the hijackers to 3 years 10 months and 2 years 10 months in prison and kept the conditional nature of the punishment. The crime was not related to violence and young people had not been brought to justice before.
