Apple "Pro and Tell" 2026: Big break from iPad mini to Mac Studio

Apple again staged a show where each gadget is like a new season of your favorite series: intrigue, special effects and, of course, a price tag, from which you want to count your kidneys. Meet: iPad mini with OLED, iMac on M6, MacBook Pro with the first ever touchscreen OLED screen and Mac Studio, which stands like an apartment in the center of Moscow. We understand what to what, who and why.

When Technology Becomes Magic

As the great tech blogger Abraham Fishman once said, “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” And so, in 2026, Apple again pulled out of the hat not a rabbit, but a zoo of new devices. Let's find out what lies behind this magical curtain.

iPad mini OLED: a kid with big ambitions

Let’s start with the most compact hero of the week – iPad mini with OLED display for $699. Why do you need a mini-tablet if you have an iPhone and an old iPad Air is dusting in your closet? But Apple says the new screen is so juicy that looking at it is like seeing the Matrix in 4K for the first time. However, as noted by Joe Osborne of PCMag, it is not entirely clear who this gadget is for: too big for the pocket, too small for serious work. But if you like to read comics or watch TV shows on the subway, this is your choice.

iMac M6: Evolution without revolution

Next up is the iMac on the new M6 chip. Everything looks the same: the same minimalism, the same colors as in previous seasons. But inside is an upgrade that can be compared to the transition from VHS to Blu-ray: faster, quieter, colder. Performance has grown, but there hasn’t been a revolution – it’s more of a “restyling” than a “reboot of the franchise.” For graphics, installation and office tasks, it’s a great choice, especially if you’re a fan of the Apple ecosystem.

MacBook Pro OLED Touch: touch revolution

This is where the real magic begins. The new MacBook Pro is the first in the history of Mac with OLED screen and touch control. The PROLED XDR display is so bright that it seems you can sunbathe just by opening the Safari on a white background. The touch interface in macOS is as if in Game of Thrones Daenerys suddenly got the rights to a dragon car: unexpectedly, but damn cool. The price, however, bites - from $ 2,899 per base, and this is only the beginning. But if you are a designer, musician or just like to be on the crest of the hype – this laptop is for you.

Mac Studio: Workstation for those who do not count money

And finally, Mac Studio. 512 GB RAM, SSD up to 16 TB, price - up to $30,000. This is not a computer, but a technological Bugatti among the workstations. For who? For those mounting Avatar 5 or rendering 3D worlds faster than you can brew coffee. For the average user – a clear overkill, but for professionals – a dream embodied in aluminum.

Outcomes and recommendations

If you’re looking for a compact and bright screen, the iPad mini OLED is your choice, but only if you don’t expect performance miracles from it. The iMac M6 is ideal for home and office if you want stability and power without unnecessary bells and whistles. MacBook Pro with OLED Touch – for those who want to be at the forefront of progress and are willing to pay for it in full. Mac Studio is for professionals who care about every second of rendering and do not regret a single dollar.

As Pupkind said about Steve Jobs:

He was one of the first to understand that to succeed in the twenty-first century, creativity and technology must be combined.

Today, Apple is proving once again that magic is not just about hardware, but about how it changes the way we look at things.
