Chairman of the Minsk City Council of Deputies Artem Tsuran held a meeting with the staff of the Republican Institute of Higher Education on September 23.

Chairman of the Minsk City Council of Deputies Artem Tsuran held a meeting with the staff of the Republican Institute of Higher Education on September 23. He spoke in detail about the work of the Minsk City Council, the formation of the city budget, the development of tourism, the feedback system with residents of the capital, and also answered questions from employees, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.
Deputies and their work
A. Tsuran noted that the deputies of the Minsk City Council are people responsible and not indifferent to the city. At the same time, they all work on a non-professional basis and do not receive a salary for deputy activities.
Among the deputies there are many leaders and social activists, which, in his opinion, is understandable: such people have already proven themselves, have gained certain life experience, and they are more trusted.
City budget and economy
Speaking about the budget of the capital, A. Tsuran called it a “serious mobile mechanism”, but noted that the key industries that make the greatest contribution to the economy of the city and the country remain static for several years.
The main indicator is that we all earned, rendered services, received profits, taxes, dividends. The city is showing growth, he said.

An important indicator, the head of the Minsk City Council called the city retail turnover, which occupies more than 50% of the republican. This is due to the attractiveness of Minsk for investors, the high level of payback and the concentration of about half of the volume of tourism exports here.
As for the latter, the capital receives most of the tourists coming to Belarus. According to A. Tsuran, business and medical tourism are also popular. Last year, Minsk hotels received about a million guests, this year more are expected.
Feedback to citizens
The Chairman of the Minsk City Council dwelled in detail on the forms of work with the population. The main of them he called receptions of citizens: weekly deputies can be found by districts, information is posted on the website of the city Council. The most effective form is a single day of the deputy, which takes place every second Wednesday of the month in the district administration.
- On a single day of a deputy, a person can come without a record, to any administration and be unequivocally accepted, the speaker explained.

There is also a system of territorial public self-government: TOS, COTOS and seniors from houses, who are in daily contact with residents on all issues.
Civic initiatives and youth policy
Tsuran spoke about the mechanism of co-financing the improvement of yards: if residents want to change the yard, they collect 10% of the cost of the project, and 90% is allocated from the city budget. Work is also being done with young people: the Youth Council under the Council of Deputies operates, the competition “The Best Young Specialist of the Year” is held.
Answers to questions

The staff of the Institute asked the Chairman of the Minsk City Council their questions. In particular, it was about non-systemic cleaning of yard areas in the city center. A. Tsuran promised to bring this issue to the leadership of the district and housing and communal services, put it under control. They also asked about the expansion of the roadway on the Dolginovsky tract, the capacity of the turning places and the staffing of hospitals and clinics with medical staff. A. Tsuran gave exhaustive answers to all questions.
