Former police officers in Kursk received 300 thousand for the promise to stop the case
Former police officers received money for the promise to stop criminal prosecution

The Prosecutor’s Office of the Central Administrative District of Kursk conducted an audit of the implementation of anti-corruption legislation.
It was established that a resident of Kursk, accused of arbitrariness, appealed to two police officers. He asked for assistance in stopping the criminal prosecution.
To do this, the police brought in a third colleague. For a monetary reward, he promised to suspend the preliminary investigation and not resume it. He had no authority or intention to fulfill what he had promised.
For alleged assistance, the man gave 300 thousand rubles. Of these, 250 thousand received a third employee, and 50 thousand – two of his colleagues.
All three were later dismissed from law enforcement. Depending on their role and degree of involvement, they were convicted of fraud and attempted mediation in bribery.
The money was transferred in the framework of a transaction contrary to the basics of law and order and morality. Therefore, the prosecutor’s office sent a lawsuit to the court to recover the amount in the income of Russia. The court satisfied the claim in full. The decision has not yet entered into legal force.
